ImageNation Film Series Starting July 28th ImageNation will be hosting a free outdoor FRIENDS AUGUST Wednesday, August 13th Join the Friends for our monthly meeting to discuss planning for our summer events. 7th ANNUAL HISTORIC HARLEM PARKS FILM FESTIVAL JULY 23TH AND 24TH LOCATION: 135th St. Plaza at St. Nicholas Ave. RAIN VENUE: St. Mark’s Church, 55 Edgecombe Ave. (intersection of 137th St. and Edgecombe Ave.) LIVE PERFORMANCE BEFORE THE FILMS Wednesday, July 23, 8:00 pm FILM: New York Non-Fiction Uptown (2nd edition) Short Film Program (90m.) Documentaries made by real New Yorkers, about real New Yorkers. These films tell the true stories of the people that make everything happen in this, the greatest city on earth. It’s your city, take a look. Thursday, July 24, 8:00 pm FILM: Hip Hop Revolution (Weaam Williams, South Africa, 48m.) “Revolution” is an exploration of the lives of a generation so touched by this genre and its culture that they are inspired to question, survive and conquer an unjust political system. Through the struggles of DJs, B-Boys, MCs and creative graffiti artists, “Hip Hop Revolution” depicts an element of hip hop so often forgotten – its power to inspire and catalyze change. If you would like to donate by check or credit card to the Friends of St. Nicholas park please follow the instructions below. BY CHECK: Step 2: Mail the check with a cover letter describing your donation to St. Nicholas Park to: Friends Of St. Nicholas Park BY CREDIT CARD: Step 1: Click the button below to go to the donation page. Step 2: Fill out the online form by follow the directions. This form is secure and from a trusted non-profit corporation. Step 3: Make sure you fill in the Designation field by typing in "Friends of St. Nicholas Park". If you don't, your contribution does not go to our park.

The St. Nick's Dog Run is one of the largest and most beautiful dog runs in New York City. The dog run is located in the middle of the park between 135th street staircase and 136th street. For more information including rules and regulations for the run click here. Read all the Dog Run Blog entries. We have a Facebook Page! Join the St. Nick's Dog Run group on Facebook. We always need more volunteers to help maintain this wonderful addition to our park. If interested please email us at dogpark@stnicholaspark.org
Saturday, August 2, 2008 This is a monthly event for dog owners to meet one another and discuss issues and volunteer opportunities in the dog run. Coffee, donuts and other refreshments provided.

| Copyright © 2007 The Friends of St. Nicholas Park The Friends of St. Nicholas Park is a coalition of residents and community based organizations, working together to revitalize our neighborhood’s natural resource. We advocate for the increase in programming, beautification projects, and the over all positive use of our 23-acre park. With the help of many neighborhood groups, including Community Board 9, the YMCA’S Jackie Robinson Youth Center, the Hamilton Heights Homeowners Association, and the Historic Harlem Parks Coalition (HHPC), we hope to achieve these goals. Our past achievements include: organizing volunteers for work days in the park under the leadership of our gardener, working with HHPC to sponsor a four night film festival, and hosting a Halloween event, and a tree lighting ceremony. We love our park and serve as its eyes and ears, always advocating on its behalf and working to address the public interest. |
